Breaking Ground
-River Cities New Homes Magazine, July 2006
The building has begun. The Hoover Companies El Rio Country Club Homes project in Mohave Valley broke ground Friday morning with one of its seven preferred builders, Sovereign Homes of Denver, Colorado. Sovereign Homes also builds homes in Minnesota and Wisconsin. The beginning of El Rio Country Club Homes, a master-planned golf community consisting of 1,600 homes ranging from 1,400 to 2,300 square feet was a celebrated with a traditional ground-breaking ceremony Friday, June 16th.

Mohave Valley Chamber of Commerce, President Sharon Howard, thanked the executives of Sovereign Homes and their visiting investors along with The Hoover Companies, Chief Operating Officer Brad Hoover for their participation in making the Mohave Valley one of the most favorable areas to live and for people to invest their money for the future. "This is just the beginning of so many great things in store for the future of Mohave Valley," said Howard.

Brad Hoover welcomed Sovereign Homes, President of Construction, Bill Keehn, Sovereign Homes President Jeff Fiebig, and Founder of Sovereign Homes Ed Garneau and 12 of their colleagues who traveled from Colorado for the groundbreaking ceremony. The even was followed by a continental breakfast, golf at the El Rio Country Club and lunch. Sovereign Homes will construct three models within the next 120 days and will offer energy-saving Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) style homes as well as traditional single-family homes. All homes will be one-story to preserve the incredible vistas that El Rio Country Club offers.
